Assignment (A)

Last year, my family and I celebrated Hari Raya Puasa. My family consists of my mother, father, sister and myself. We wore matching-coloured 'baju kurungs'. They were yellow. We woke up early and got ready. We then took pictures as a family together at home. We seeked forgiveness from each other and gave each other hugs. Mum and dad both gave my sister and I green packets containing money. There was a strong bond between my parents and I.

We then left the house. We went to my grandparents' house. We went there by car. There were 'kuih' readied on the dining table when we reached our grandparents' house. My favourite 'kuih' was 'kuih tat', or pineapple tart. The pineapple tarts were made by my grandmother. They tasted extremely delicious. My uncles and aunts were there too. We chatted for a few minutes and got ready to go to the next house. The elder ones gave the younger ones green packets. That was my favourite part of Hari Raya Puasa. Of course, being a younger one, I had to thank them.

We left and went to the next house. And to the next house, and to the next house. At each house, my sister and I gobbled up the food that was readied on the table and collected green packets. We went to many of our relatives' houses. By then, my pockets were stuffed with green packets. I made sure I did not drop anyone of them.

It was getting late. My family members decided to go back home and rest for the next day. When we got back home, I counted how much money I collected so far. The amount I got pleased me.

I can see that Jess's family were not very close and bonded but they allowed Leslie to come to join them for Easter. I felt a close connection with my family and we did not have any outsiders joining us during Hari Raya Puasa.

i'm just your typical forteen year old boy. adolescent, dealing with growing pains just as any other normal human teenager would. except what sets me apart is that i go by the name of glen and i am the supposed owner of this forsaken web page. i'm odd in the way that i have very frequent moodswings and i argue a lot with everyone - including my best friend, who's well, pretty much non-existant. so i guess i'm your typical, not-so-typical guy.
i'm just who i am. metro, a SNAG and the oh-so-annoying bitch. lazy, cranky, irritable and irritating in every way. just living out my life as normal as i possibly can. with friends that can hurt me to the core and enemies that surprise me. it's no wonder i keep this blog.
